The 39 years young Rakesh Siddaramaiah son of Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah passed away of on Saturday at Belgium hospital. He leaves behind wife and son at a very early age.

The reason for Rakesh to figure in this cinema column is because he made an unsuccessful bid in acting. It was 13 years ago Rakesh took part as hero in Kannada film ‘Nanage Neenu Ninage Naanu Kannada film by director Anitha Subramanya. The film went on the floors at Karumariyamma temple in Bengaluru, his proud father also attended the muhuruth. Pravin D Rao was music director, Subramanya handled camera department. Nanage Neenu Ninage Naanu album was released May 08, 2003 on Jhankar Music label. Nanage Neenu Ninage Naanu CD contained 8 songs.

Subramanya husband of director Anitha had other plans for the finishing of Rakesh film. He approached Siddaramaiah for financial help. A straightforward Siddaramaiah who was finance minister and deputy chief minister then turned down the request.

Anitha and Subramanya completed the film selling their properties. The film ‘NNNN’ was a huge flop in the box office. After that Siddaramaiah son did not make any attempt in films.

Anitha and Subramanya lost nearly 50 lakhs of rupees. The couple later made a film on eunuch ‘Sleep’ – 84 minutes film that earned some accolades for the subject handled for the first time in Kannada cinema – completely on eunuch life.
